Data is an important conversation year after year in education. For teachers, it can be hard to find the time to organize and analyze the data that is collected from students to make it impactful for their learning. Here are some analytic tools that can be helpful to use for collecting and analyzing student data in an engaging way for students.  1) Storyboard That About : Storyboard That is a website that allows students to use templates to create comic representations of stories. It can be used for planning and brainstorming, or as a formative assessment to recall knowledge. The numerous options of backgrounds, characters, and onjects make it easy for any student to create what they want.  Type of Learning : Storyboard That can be used in a variety of ways, but it would be useful as a way for students to recall details and draw connections in a story by showing what they remember. Social Tools

There are a number of social tools available online that can be used in educational settings. With all the choices available, it's important to find tools that work for you as a teacher and provide a improved learning experience for students. Here are a few of the social tools I explored.  1) Voice Thread Type of learning : Depending on how this tool is being utilized, the type of learning can be understanding if it is being used as a media lecture. It can be application, evaluation, or synthesis if students are being asked to make connections to new knowledge, make judgements about what is being presented, or create their own media.  Type of learning experience : Along Dale's Cone of Experience, VoiceThread is leaning toward the abstract experience. Introductions

My name is Alexx Cook and I teach an elective called Media Design and Communication to junior high students in West Chester, Ohio. This is  my eleventh year teaching. I have two sons, with a third baby boy due in December. Kellan is six and starting first grade. Everett just turned one.   I really enjoy teaching, and I also like reading, biking, sewing, crafts, and playing piano. My husband and I have been married for nine years and have previously lived in Lexington, KY and Phoenix, AZ. I graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree in secondary education for Language Arts, and am working on my Masters from Miami University in Educational Technology.
